Coming from an all English IB secondary school, this student had difficulty adjusting to the use of Cantonese at university even though she used it at home. She has developed a liking for classical literature such as Plato but couldn’t get the hang of Othello.

Making a presentation in a summer programme in Form 3 gave this student a different learning experience. He was exposed to new ideas and vocabulary while reading a university book In Dialogue with Nature.

Talking to locals during a US exchange allowed this Accounting major to polish her spoken English and understand the local culture. She valued reading about Socrates and Plato in a philosophy course.
