Reading a textbook aloud gave this Business major an opportunity to speak more English. She found Greek mythology interesting. She also read A Little Princess and To Kill a Mockingbird.

Doing English Builder online in secondary school was irritating, whereas university language course was more practical for this Journalism major. She read Shakespeare’s works, The Lord of the Rings and Greek mythology Percy Jackson. Now she reads magazines and The New York Times online.

Studying Edith Hamilton’s Mythology in secondary school involved reading the book, discussing it and making a drama for this Engineering major. She experienced the mood of Dante’s Inferno when a teacher read it aloud in a dynamic voice.

The feeling that she couldn’t express herself in complete sentences when speaking with foreigners motivated this English major to work harder. She checked the dictionary and wrote down the Chinese meanings while reading Harry Potter.
