Watching children’s TV programmes was a more effective way to learn English than attending extra-curricular tutorials for this Business major. She has enjoyed reading children’s literature and adult fiction.

Revisiting what has been taught in primary school English while at university was an interesting experience for this student. He has read the Harry Potter series, including the Order of the Phoenix more than 70 times. J.K. Rowling and Malcolm Gladwell are his favourite authors.

Classes at a language centre were interesting due to the background of the tutors who taught grammar, writing and presentation skills. Malcolm Gladwell’s Outliers is a logically written book about why people are successful.

Participating in the Youth Summit placed this Translation major in an all-English environment and motivated her to improve. Reading the non-fiction book David and Goliath was different to reading fiction stories.
