Studying in the UK at 14 years old was stressful at first because this student didn’t have the vocabulary to ask simple questions. Holes was the first children’s literature she completed.

An English Teaching major found writing down subtitles improved her understanding. She believes studying should be enjoyable. She has read Holes and watched the movie.

Playing, singing and watching cartoons were a fun way to learn phonics in extra-curricular classes for this Social Work major. She said people who don’t like reading much need to find a book that interests them.

NETs in the kindergarten and primary school of this Computing major used music to teach the language and encouraged her to speak more. She also likes reading English fiction such as Sherlock Holmes, Harry Potter and the works of Jeffrey Archer.

A NET used songs and poems to teach this Science major. Reading Why Pick on Me? in class expanded her vocabulary. Her favourite book is Sherlock Holmes.

Joining the English Society in primary school allowed this Chinese major to organise activities. Learning with a foreigner involved reading Holes and singing. She also played games and experienced a radio drama.

Writing and performing a drama for the SBA was not as boring as listening to the teacher for this Business major. She read Holes, An Inspector Calls, and Harry Potter. She likes to read in English and Chinese.
