Terminator 2, James Bond and other movies have taught this Computer Engineering major catch phrases, slang, usage, and culture. Harry Potter books were an integral part of his childhood. The best way to encourage learning is to explain the importance of English as a global language.

Watching Hollywood action movies such as The Avengers, Spider-Man, Batman, Hulk and James Bond improved this Science major’s English listening skills. She does not like reading textbooks.

Watching movies with English subtitles contributed to this Public Policy major’s learning experience. She enjoys reading short stories and her favourites include the Elbow Room collection, stories by Alice Walker and Raymond Carver.
