Interviewing foreigners gave this student a chance to practise her English. She read Howl’s Moving Castle after watching the movie. She bought the book because she likes the author.

Coming from a CMI school, this Language major had done extra self-practice to prepare for the DSE. She realises learning back then was particularly productive. Her reading interest ranges from fantasy novels such as Howl’s Moving Castle to romance like One Day.

Being in the drama club, this Interactive Media major had to write scripts and act in English without feeling shy. She also reads magazines such as Marie Claire due to her love for fashion.

This Business major spent her kindergarten years in Canada where she learnt English through pictures, actions and words. She read fiction in the library every day during primary school. Her favourite authors are Christopher Pike and Diana Wynne Jones. She now reads online stories and blogs.

This Visual Arts major attended a course to prepare for university interviews. She read Howl’s Moving Castle in English because there was no Chinese translation.
