When she was young, this Public Policy major watched cartoons such as Courage the Cowardly Dog and The Powerpuff Girls on the Cartoon Network. She read Cathedral by Raymond Carver and Harry Potter.

Watching movies with English subtitles contributed to this Public Policy major’s learning experience. She enjoys reading short stories and her favourites include the Elbow Room collection, stories by Alice Walker and Raymond Carver.

A teacher from high school used poetry and movies to develop this Design major’s interest in English. She made her own films and wrote the script for a literature course. She also did role-play of Lord of the Flies and Othello in class.

Performing a dramatic interpretation of the Yellow Wallpaper in class allowed this English for Communication major to use the language in a fun way. She read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Lamb to the Slaughter, and other books with her classmates and shared thoughts on them.

Watching YouTube channels like Emma Blackery and London London was a lot of fun for this Cultural Management major. Reading is a source of inspiration to her. She read Lord of the Flies, Othello, and Cathedral in secondary school literature class.
