This Creative Media major who is not fond of formal education, learnt from movies and reading books. Spending her childhood in books, her all-time favourite is Plato and a Platypus Walk into a Bar. She also read young adult novels such as The Mortal Instruments and The Hunger Games.

English created a familiar bond between this Psychology major and her family’s domestic helper. She has read The Mortal Instruments and All the Light We Cannot See. She also learns English from YouTubers.

A camp organised by some Canadians forced this Business major to speak English. Watching the movie, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, motivated her to read the original book which revealed more detail.

Interacting with Australian teachers in secondary school was a good way for this Chinese History major to practise speaking English. She likes fiction and read The Mortal Instrument: City of Bones, Harry Potter and Sherlock Holmes.

A trip to the UK gave this Engineering major an opportunity to immerse herself in British culture. She had to read the South China Morning Post every morning at school. Reading books that have been made into movies allows her to better understand the content.
